The area of town I live in used to be full of old ranch-style homes like this one. Many of them are being torn down for high-rise condos, but I enjoy seeing the few holdouts.

I wonder if that will ever happen here? It seems like a better use of space than sprawling ranch style houses. I like our house and would sure hate to give it up. But it sounds like progress.

In 1995, during college, I lived in a house that was right on the bluff where the “e” on S. Lamar heading North is. (Directly south of where Red’s Porch is now.) Old ranch style home, but completely awesome location. Looked out all the way across Barton Creek. If you got adventurous, you could just hike down the backyard to the Creek. Used to sit in the carport or on the lawn and get our drink on or whatever all the time.

This a real good place for living. Even though it may look as though it is an extraneous charge, the reality of the issue is that most buyers will eventually discovered that a house investment is a useful points that shouldn’t be disregard.
