Painted Desert

I took a photo from a higher angle so you could see the sidewalk art better.

Nice picture, what does this sidewalk lead to, is it a public or a private building.

Saw the last picture, wonderfully painted sidewalk to an art building. Probably done by students. Is it permenent or chalked, we used to have a painted street on our campus, with blocks painted by different student organizations every year.

Nice photograph. The artwork is nice too. Is it really hot there or just perfect?

Hi. I’ve been checking on your site for a few weeks, hoping to see new pictures. Welcome back! My brother and his family have lived in Phoenix (actually, LaVeen) for almost 2 years and I haven’t been able to make a trip out there yet. So it’s nice to see some of the sites they see.
    Thank you so much!!

@destituterebel - The painting was done by students and prospective students during a public Open House. The paint is gesso. It’s biodegradable, and has a chalky texture, but it sticks around until we get a really good rain. Here in Phoenix, that’s not too common.

@Abraham Lincoln - It’s just perfect here right now. Today’s low is 54˚F and the high will be 76˚F. By the weekend it will be 58˚ - 87˚F. And not a cloud in sight. But tons of wildflowers out in the desert. I am going to try to get out and photograph them next weekend.

@darla wright - thank you for checking on us! I’ve been very lax at this project because I’ve overbooked myself, but my husband Gary is helping me out now. I’m actually looking for more contributors from the Phoenix area, too. I’m hoping we’ll begin to offer a wider perspective of views.

Thanks so much for visiting, everyone. :D

Beautifully done by the students. And wonderfully framed. Your description of the temperature makes me want to get on a plane to Arizona. That vegetation is so exotic to a northern hemisphere boy like me.
