This is a cat that newly adopted us. It was rather timid at first, keeping a good distance. After a few weeks of seeing us bring out food and making friends with the other outdoor cat, it would not run as far away. It recently allowed us to touch it, and discovered it liked to be petted. Now it comes out of hiding whenever we are around, and is rather under-foot. It has the most striking eye color; a vibrant teal blue. It is also rather old and has been in quite a few scrapes. I hope it sticks around long enough to rest and heal.

I know we’re not supposed to give them names, and get attached, but this one’s name is Cloud (according to Deb). We have to get together on a photo attempt so that we can capture his eye color properly - they are gorgeous eyes.
she looks sleepy
King! Or Queen? Either way, pretty gorgeous. And certainly regal. Has been around the block once or twice by the look of it. Knows the score. Has an air of worldliness. I love cats.
What a great cat. beautiful. What a lucky cat. Hope it realises this and hangs around.
lovely cat!!
she must get rather hot in the summers there?!
This cat looks much like our Miss Kitty, who passed on to another life in 2005. Hmmmmm…I wonder! She would be about 10 years old now.
One vet thought Miss Kitty might be a Norwegian Forest cat, which is kind of a rare breed in the U.S. Another vet said she was just another long-haired Dallas County stray. Beautiful cat though!
Hi Cheryl,
Glad to see that you and Gary and whatever photographers in the Phoenix area are conitnuing this wonderful blog. It got lost on me for a while but I found it again…and glad to see it…
Lovely creature, wonderful eyes!
Hi Cheryl, I just posted a photo of our Miss Kitty. Check it out at selmaala.blogspot.com. Miss Kitty acted like Queen of the House, and when she wanted inside, she beat on the door with her paws.
Hi Cheryl, Your new friend is so cute! She ressembles SO MUCH our cat Romeo! Ours is a “Maine Coon” cat. They are very large cats with long furry hair (angora like). The color of their fur is very much similar to a racoon. They are well known to be very gentle. We adopted ours a year ago and he is tremendously affectionnate. We love him.
I am a sucker for cats that show up on my porch. I dont know why they seem to always show up on our step. The food I put out isnt that good.
