The well was cared for and looked after - looking up, you can see where I was standing in the previous photograph (the same man is still up there looking down into the well). Beneath that vantage you can see the homes of the caretakers, taking advantage of natural caves in the cliff walls, and adding walls of stone for warmth.
A very beautiful picture and impressive looking well.
The detail in those cliff walls is gorgeous. What a fabulous place. It’s on my list of things to see before I die.
