The rim of Meteor Crater. To the left is the drop to the crater floor, to the right is the museum facility, and the windy road in the background leads out from the middle of nowhere to Route 66. You can really see how the meteorite impact pushed the ground up.

Just incredible. Incredible impact and incredible place of impact! I wonder what the terrain was like back then? In fact, when exactly did it hit? Maybe it was the one that wiped out the dinosaurs. Questions questions…
I have been planning to visit this huge crater, but always missed this trip by the time I was in Arizona. Cool shot!
