This huge neon sign is a landmark. It’s been around since 1957 or so.

Back then it was the outskirts of town. But Phoenix annexed more and more space over time, and now this dealership is well ensconced in the middle of the city.

When I was little (we’re talking 1970s now), seeing this sign meant we were getting close to 7th Street, which is where we would turn south to go to Rosita’s Place, our favorite Mexican restaurant, then located in Buckeye, and now at 24th Street and McDowell Road.
