Very nice shot. I have not seen a Burrowing Owl in Ohio but maybe they are not supposed to be here. I have seen all of the other kinds though. Nice photography.
Well, Randy, that was one photo out of 6 attempts, and it was the only one that was really in focus. It’s not so much knack as persistence.
@Abraham - I don’t think the burrowing owls tend to stray east of the Mississippi river. At least not according to the Owl Pages. They favor open, dry grasslands and shrubby areas.
