I spent some time looking at this family marker because It got me thinking about the world as it is today. I wanted to photograph it as a reminder of where so many of us come from, and where we’re all headed. Notice the Arabic. Judaism, Christianity and Islam all consider Abraham a forefather. Notice the carved cross. In Genesis, God promised Abraham that the nations of the world would come to be blessed through his offspring. I do hope that one day we humans will step out of the way of the fulfillment of this promise.
